Rays of the Sun

Was on my way to pick up my girlfriend to go out when I saw this reall cool sunset. This group of clouds were directly in front of the sun and it was casting some really cool shadows towards me. As usualy the camera phone was the only thing I had. Was lucky and got a pretty good shot. I just wish the lightpoles and the power line tower at the right wasn't in the picture, would have looked a lot nicer.

News at 11:00

Not sure if anyone is following the news lately, but there was a horrible heat wave throughout all of California. We had temperatures of 115 and at 10:00 at night the temperature was still around 90 degrees. There was more humidity then normal which made things really bad and I think around 29 people passed away due to the heat in Fresno County alone. As I was leaving work I noticed several news vans in the PG&E (electrical company for all you non Californians) parking lot. I guess they were doing stories on the rolling blackouts and realized another perk of working where I do. We are right across from PG&E and that means we will always have power. Now if only there was parking.

Another Fourth of July has come and gone. Went to the same place as last year. Wasn't as many people as last year, but was still fun. Tons of fireworks, this one some some $50 behemoth that was the finale. Once again my thanks goes out to everyone serving in the milatary, beit at home or overseas.

Ok so my sister and I were at Riverpark today (to see Superman Returns, great movie btw) when we crossed this new addition to the "park". Apparently someone thought it would be a good idea to install a playground in front of Edwards Theater in the open with only some small palm trees for shade. The bulldog (Fresno State mascot) shows the maximum height allowed. Earlier it was crawling with kids, but when we were leaving it was vacant, the entire place was baking in the sun. Don't know what genius thought this was a good idea. All I know is that I am going to come here late one night and ride the slide.
